Collective Worker Resistance to Green Human Resource Management Policies: Differences in Age, Gender, Status, and Subculture Solidarity
Keywords:

This research examines collective resistance to Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) through the perspective of conflict sociology, focusing on differences in age, gender, and employment status, as well as subcultural solidarity mechanisms that reinforce rejection. This qualitative literature study utilizes a thematic analysis framework. Findings indicate that senior workers resist through organized apathy, middle aged workers through pragmatic calculation, and young workers through the contradiction between ecological values and personal autonomy. Male workers express rejection openly, while female workers utilize passive-aggressive strategies. Subcultural solidarity strengthens resistance through shared narratives, counter-knowledge, hidden spaces, coded language, social sanctions, humor, rituals, exploitation of system loopholes, external alliances, dispersed leadership, transformation of meaning, and continuous adaptation. Theoretical implications enrich GHRM literature with a conflict perspective, while practical implications offer guidance for management to design green policies that are responsive to workplace social dynamics.
