Abstract

This literature study examines the application of Six Sigma methodology with a statistical engineering approach for product quality control in manufacturing industries. Through a qualitative thematic synthesis of academic works and case studies, the analysis addresses two focal points. First, it explores how Six Sigma tools and techniques, including Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, are systematically used to identify production defects, analyze root causes, and design effective improvement solutions. Second, it investigates how Six Sigma implementation contributes to the overall improvement of corporate quality management systems, encompassing enhanced analytical capabilities, cultural transformation toward continuous improvement, integration with existing quality systems, and sustainable control mechanisms. The study concludes that Six Sigma is an effective framework for quality control that requires strong management commitment, organizational readiness, technical competence in statistics and process understanding, and effective change management for successful implementation. Case studies from various industries demonstrate significant improvements in product quality, operational efficiency, and cost reduction. The findings underscore the necessity of integrated approaches combining technical analysis with organizational development to realize the full potential of Six Sigma in improving corporate quality management systems.
